Description
From a child's eye, a simple task such as shoetying can be a complex feat especially if you have a unique learning style. "Shoe Tying Made Simple" is an instructional booklet for parents, teachers, or therapists. By breaking down the skill (task analysis)and utilizing a true "multisensory" approach, even children that were once unsuccessful with this task can obtain success. The steps to the program are illustratred with photographs for the "visual learner". There is a wonderful rhyming verse called "Friends from the ends" for the auditory learner that is sure to capture their attention! Also, there is a tactile/kinesthetic cue utilized by marking the laces. The verse that accompnies this step is "See the black dots on the yellow lace?, Pinch them together and hold them in place!" The steps are meant to be taught slowly! A child must not attempt another step until they have demonstrated mastery with the each phase. The kit includes special teaching laces which are yellow on one end and navy blue on the other. The companion instructions are in a convenient standup flip-bound book, printed in full color, with actual photographs! The kit includes instructions for both right-handed and left-handed children. This method is wonderful for all children, even if they do not require special learning strategies! - from Amzon
